QUESTIONS ABOUT BUBBLE CHAMBER

1.- Bubble Chamber:

a)   what are the different parts that you find in it?

b)   What is it used for?

2.-  Suppose the  magnetic field is perpendicular to your paper and pointing  into.  The beam goes from the bottom to the top and perpendicular to the magnetic field.

a)    why do some particles describe a circumference?

b)    which  of them turn right?

c)    why are there some that don’t leave any trace?

3.-  This picture shows the traces  of  two particles. Justify the relation between their masses and their charges.

4.- Draw  a picture of:

a)   Bremstrahlung

b)   pair production ( from g)

c)   the Compton effect

5.- When a positron collides against a stationary electron and transfers all its momentum to the electron the phenomenon  produced is similar to the classical event between two balls. Draw and compare both events.
