The K- interacts with a proton (it is at rest) and three particles come out: one positive, one negative and one neutral. Only the charged particles leave tracks.

In the picture you can see four tracks: the red track left by the negative kaon beam and the blue tracks left by the outgoing particles.

 The fifth particle is the target proton.
