Processes in the liquid hydrogen

A bubble chamber filled, for example, with hydrogen works both as a target (the protons being studied) and a detector (electrons in the atom shell near a moving charged particle receive enough energy while the coulomb interaction for ionization to occur. The energy thus deposited causes boiling to occur along the track of the charged particle).
