A typical example of four-year physics curriculum for gymnazium

1st year
Mechanics: kinematics (linear motion with constant acceleration, circular motion), Newton's laws of motion, momentum, energy, power, gravitation (Newton's law, Kepler's laws, projectile motion), rotation of a rigid body about a fixed axis, fluids

2nd year
Thermodynamics and statistical mechanics: thermal expansion, specific heat capacity, specific latent heat, properties of gases, liquids and solids
Simple harmonic motion, waves, sound

3rd year
Electricity and magnetism: Electrostatics, current in conductors (Ohm's law, Kirchhoff's laws), semiconductors, electrolytes and gases, magnetic field, electromagnetic induction, electromagnetic waves

4th year
Optics: geometrical optics, wave optics
Special theory of relativity
Atomic and nuclear physics: the quantum concept, photoelectric effect, Compton effect, corpuscular and wave theory, atoms and their constituents, Franck-Hertz experiment, detection of particles, nuclei and their constituents, radioactive decay, accelerators and elementary particles
