In Portugal the school system is composed by the Basic and Secondary school. The basic school is for students with 6-14 years old, the Secondary school is only for students who want to continue studying. Students start learning physics in Basic school with 6 years old. In the Basic school they have little mathematics, only the necessary to understand the concepts.
In Portugal students learn particle physics, for instance in the Basic school they learn the structure of matter.
