AIGUILLE DU MIDI 3842 m  *MONT-BLANC*

 The cable car was completed in 1955 and entirely renovated in 1991 . It links the summit in two sections : from Chamonix to the Plan de l’Aiguille at 2300 m of altitude and from the Plan de l’Aiguille to the summit of the Aiguille at 3800 m which is a total of 1500 m continuous ascent with no supporting pylons. It functions all year round, non stop except in bad weather conditions.
