Decay of sigma+ to a proton and a pi0

This picture was taken in the CERN 2-metre bubble chamber, filled with liquid hydrogen and exposed to a beam with an energy of 4.2 GeV.
The highlighted tracks show a sigma+ plus (produced in a interaction) decaying to a proton . The kink can be better appreciated by printing off the picture and looking at the tracks with a small viewing angle.

The photons from the decay of the escaped without producing pairs in the bubble chamber liquid.
