Bubble chamber picture of decay of Xi- to a pi- and a lambda0

This picture was taken in the Big European Bubble Chamber (BEBC), filled with hydrogen and exposed to a high energy antineutrino beam.

The highlighted tracks show the leaving the neutrino interaction point (there are no beam tracks because the beam is neutral) and decaying with a characteristic kink (see glossary link) into a and a . The lambda then decays to a proton and a .
