I chose very deliberately for an assignment in
secondary education as a high school physics teacher at Sint-Lievenscollege in Antwerp
(Belgium). For fifteen years I have been a pedagogical coordinator besides my 2/3
assignment as a teacher to coach processes of structural innovation.
Since 1980 I am also involved with in-service training for teachers as an extension of the
teacher-training program at the University of Antwerp. In my teaching I have always been
able to give a place to basic insights of, among others, quantum theory, relativity theory
and particle physics, which shape our present understanding of the world. My experience is
that young people feel the need of a total understanding of the world in its most
fundamental interactions! |
