I live in Cracow, Poland.
I teach physics in a big high school (over 1000 people). My students are
16-19 years old. We have at least 3 different courses of physics - 2 basic
ones, and one advanced in mathematics, physics, and computer science.
My colleague and me are the authors of curriculum of the advanced course.
Since September 2002 I have also taught physics in junior high (pupils
age
13-16) to get a better knowledge about the way how the students are taught
science before entering the high school.
My school web page is http://www.viii-lo.krakow.pl/ .
CURRICULUM VITAE:
--------------
I would prefer my personal information from my application form not to
be
available on the Web (for instance my cv).
WHY SHOULD I ATTEND?
--------------
Until 2002 physics in our school was taught within a limited scope. Last
year my colleague and me decided to change it. We prepared a curriculum
for a class advanced in mathematics, physics, and computer science. The
first class started in September 2002. I'm going to manage the next
one. I've some ideas I'm going to use.
I think CERN Programme can be useful for me because of new ideas, and
to develope the previous ones.
HOW WILL I DISSEMINATE KNOWLEDGE?
--------------
Every year we organize "Physics day" in our High School for
approaching
new ideas, discoveries and theories, but also for making physics enjoyable
(by competitions, plays etc.)It gives me opportunity to disseminate new
experience I'll aquire. In junior high where I also teach I'm going to
organize something similar as "Physics day" called "Science
festival"
as the school is joining a national-wide programme "Szkola z klasa"
For those activities I use some CERN materials wich I owned from CERN
exibitions organized twice in Cracow, like comic books, video types,
computer programs.
I also think about preparing www page for students in my schools, like
www.dzien-fizyka.prv.pl done by our students.
HOW DID I LEARN ABOUT HST?
--------------
From Prof. Jacek Turnau from Institute of Nuclear Physics in Cracow.
