I am Head of Physics in the High School of Dundee, Scotland, where we
teach pupils from 12 to 18years. I am also on the Scottish Science Advisory
Committee to advise the government about the role and future of Science
in Scotland. I am therefore very keen to meet other scientists from Europe
to compare what is happening with Science and Education in other countries.

WHY SHOULD I ATTEND?
--------------
- It is some years since I graduated so I welcomed the chance to be
selected for the PHT03 conference to update my knowledge of Particle
Physics. I really enjoyed the weekend and would like to find out
more. Participating in the summer programme would consolidate what I
have learned from PHT03 and extend my knowledge of the subject and its
related technologies.
- It would also be a valuable opportunity to develop educational
materials, benefiting students whilst giving me greater depth of knowledge
in High Energy Physics.
- In my role as national exam setter it could possibly give me ideas
for assessments.
HOW WILL I DISSEMINATE KNOWLEDGE?
--------------
I have already been asked to give reports and presentations about the
PHT03 conference and CERN to :
- The Scottish Science Advisory Committee
- The British Federation of Women Graduates
- The National Conference for Scottish Physics Teachers.
I would also consider writing articles for ASE (Association of Science
Education) and IOP (Institute of Physics)and local newspapers.
HOW DID I LEARN ABOUT HST?
--------------
Through the CERN web-site and PHT03.
