I live in La Coruña, a small city on the north-west coast of Galicia
(Spain).I am a Physics and Chemistry teacher and in my free time a painter.I work at state High School, I teach two subjects “Chemistry” and
“Physics and Chemistry” in two different options: “Science-Technology” and “Science”, my pupils are 14 to 17 years old.

I am interested in Science and in Art and I try to transmit to my
pupils that creativity can develop in both. I paint about different themes
but I prefer ancient cultures, especially Galician pethroglyps

CURRICULUM VITAE:
--------------
I don`t want my "curriculum vitae" to be in Internet.

WHY SHOULD I ATTEND?
--------------
I think I could benefit from HTS in three aspects:

1st - AS A TEACHER

This would allow me to improve my knowledge of physical particles and
high-energy

My teaching methods would also be brushed up and the and exchange of
information and experience with other teachers would let me compare my
teaching strategies and techniques

It would give me an excellent opportunity to establish a good relationship
with teachers from other countries and we would be able to continue
and expand our knowledge about each other through Internet, Comenius,
and so on

This would enable me to become a first line professional and this would
also be a starting point for further links with teachers, CERN and
other European Schools so that we would be able to work together on more
occasions

2nd - AS A PAINTER
I am as interested in Art as in Science. At this moment I’m working to
combine Art and Science It is popularly thought that a scientist doesn’t
know a lot about Art and I’d
like to prove that this is wrong. I’m thinking of doing different
tasks to combine (the combination of physical particles and Galician
petroglyphs as one of my aims) Attending Physics High School would give
me a first hand approach

3rd -AS A PERSON

Getting to know one of the best laboratory of particles in the world
Being in direct contact with superior work on Physics
Keeping in touch with teachers of different nationality and experience
Meeting people from other countries and with other cultures
Seeing Geneva and Switzerland for the first time
Having a holiday on which I would do lots of things. I hate holidays
without activity. I would learn, paint and enjoy both
I love learning new things and having new experiences. If I’d go to CERN:
I’d know another country, I’d know other people, I’d learn about physics
particles, I’d think about painting… It’s perfect for mi because I don’t
like holiday where I do nothing?

HOW WILL I DISSEMINATE KNOWLEDGE?
--------------
The information learnt would also benefit my students because I could
explain to them, show them videos, give them talks, and so on.

I would also pass information on to other Galician teachers in their
Schools

Through Internet I would spread my newly acquired knowledge not only to
teachers but to people interested as well

I want to paint about physical particles and exhibit this work
following the usual way of Art and the unusual ways too: High School,
Science Museums, laboratorys… with exhibitions of painting, engraving,
photography, computer assisted,.. I think that the possibilities are
infinite

HOW DID I LEARN ABOUT HST?
--------------
1. Through Internet information disseminated by the Spanish teachers
participated in HTS 2001: Leonor de Miguel, Esperanza García - Carpintero
and Francisco Barradas
2. Through the CERN wep page
