I come from Madrid, Spain but because my father, who is an artist, wanted to run from the big city and paint Nature, we moved to the region of Extremadura where we have lived since then.
I got my Master´s Degree in Physics in 1989. Then I became a High School Physics teacher in I.E.S “Suárez de Figueroa”, a Secondary and High School where I taught Physics, Chemistry and also was a Vocational Counsellor for students in their senior year in High School. I had been teaching for nine years when I became a Visiting Teacher in the United States in Bilingual Schools in the state of Texas. I was also a District Technology Trainer for Fort Worth Independent School District. My american experience lasted for almost six yearsLast year I came back to Spain and I did not only bring great memories but a family.

I carried on a Project for the Library at my High School and went back to teaching Physics,In September I was called to be part of a group of teachers to create the educational web site of the state of Extremadura. I am responsable for the section devoted to Physics and Chemistry.
Have a look at www.educarex.es

Our aim is the introduction and use of Technology by teachers in the classroom. The state Government in Extremadura has made it posible for every two students to have a computer in every classroom in all Secondary schools. We have created a tool that helps teachers create their own multimedia units and to share them with other teachers all over the world using a common format.

I believe in Technology as a powerful motivating tool and specifically in the area of Physics TICS can help visualize physical concepts that are usually difficult to grasp in a way that is both friendly and entertaining. Technology used this way can help make Physics more popular and accessible to everyone.

Since I do not have a personal web page let me share with you my dad´s that is written in the language of Art and does not require the knowledge of Spanish to fully enjoy. http://www.joseluisgancedo.com/
