My home is in the town of Rugby, in central England (the Midlands). It is probably best known for its public school (the setting of “Tom Brown’s School Days”) and being the home of the game with odd shaped balls. I currently teach at King Edward VI Grammar School in Stratford upon Avon. It is a small school of only 480 boys, aged 11 to 18. It has had several famous ‘old boys’ including a certain William Shakespeare (we still teach in the same room that he learned in!) There I teach physics, chemistry, biology and ICT although my main subject is physics, which I teach to the older students. I also teach astronomy to adults in evening courses. Last year I was fortunate enough to spend a year working at the University of Leicester on a project called “Classroom Space”. This aimed to provide science teachers across the country with space and astronomy based resources to help them teach core science concepts. In any spare time that I manage to find I relax by performing on stage, both acting and singing. It can be exhausting but is great fun. |
