My name is Araceli Varela Sánchez. I come from Galicia, in Spain, which I left for various reasons, among others the need to search for a job. I teach Physics and Mathematics at a public secondary school in Geneva, Switzerland, since 2004. My pupils are aged 13-15 and come from more than 30 different countries in the world.
The first approach to Physics for Swiss students is Optics –at a very elementary level-, followed by Electricity and Mechanics, all of this with a very experimentally-oriented point of view.

I don’t like cycling nor swimming, running, skiing or other kinds of physical activities, so I spend my free time reading, watching movies and learning new things, so to keep my brain in good shape.

Right now I’m working on a Ph.D. thesis on Sociology of Science at the University of Geneva. I have also published a book of interviews on contemporary political issues, which you can find in:
