My name is Antonio López. I live in Lleida, Catalonia, in the Northeast of Spain. I’m married to a History teacher and have two daughters, aged 23 and 17.

I have been teaching science to students -aged from 12 go 18- for more than thirty years. Although my main subjects are Biology and Environmental Sciences, my contact with students and science teachers increased my interest in other subjects like Geology, Astronomy and Astrophysics.

Two years ago I left school for a sabbatical/research year. I invested this time investigating the spreading of non-scientific beliefs, myths and misunderstandings through school textbooks, newspapers and magazines. I have published several books and articles on this subject.

I have been involved with international activities on science education in Europe and the US (Comenius projects and seminars, Globe program, NSTA conferences,…).

Nowadays, I work in a science resources centre (www.xtec.net/cdec) being in charge of developing resources for science teachers and organizing in-service teacher training activities.

In my spare time I like to read and travel.
