Hallo everybody, I’m Jacek Rybicki from Torun, a Mediaeval town in the centre of Poland. I graduated in theoretical physics but I think I was born to be a teacher.

For ten years I worked with university students to train them to be teachers of physics during the contract with the Department of Physics, Nicolaus Copernicus University. But my main occupation is teaching physics in high schools. I started this nearly 30 years ago. At present I work in the only integration high school in Torun, where we admit ca. 5% of disabled students. My students are 16-19 years old.

I’m fascinated with physics (astrophysics, cosmology, cosmogony), chemistry, mathematics and informatics but also with humanities (poetry, film, music, visual arts). My interests also cover education of physics and astronomy, development and implementation of new teaching methods, including ICT. I am a member of the Polish Association for Science Education.

A new multimedia laboratory is just being installed in my school, that is why it’s web site is not available at the moment. I have reviewed all web sites of your schools and I find them extremely interesting. I can only envy you and hope that after the holidays we will also have something more attractive.

I like walking and biking both in town and in the country and I love sailing, mostly in the District of Mazurian Lakes during holidays. I am a passionate photographer.
