My name is Ana Sofia Silva, and I am from Odivelas, a town near Lisbon , in Portugal . I have finished my licentiate degree, and I am a Physics and Chemistry Teacher. During this last year I was responsible for the dynamization of the school's Science Club, I participated in and organized extra-curricular activities including the CRESCERE European Project and the Particle Physics Masterclass 2006, "Hands on Particle Physics". I have also developed an Astronomy project called "Reaching the sky" , which was approved by the Ciência Viva programme, whose aim is to encourage the use of experiments in learning science, involving scientific and school communities with a view to an exchange of knowledge and resources. I am very passionate about all things related to Astronomy and I think that teaching is the best job in the world! I've become very curious about particle physics, and I want to learn more about it, and be able to develop different learning resources and equipment to use in class and in the Science Club. I am also looking forward to exchange experiences with colleagues from other countries!! Apart from being a teacher, I am also a dancer, and I love sports!
I often go for a run in the early morning or in the evening and I also
swim. |
