My name is Terrence Baine and I have been teaching the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Program at Berg videregaaende skole (Berg Upper Secondary School) in Oslo, Norway since 1998. I currently teach IB Physics, Mathematics and Chemistry.  I hold a B.Sc. in Chemistry from McMaster University in Canada, an M.Sc. in Physics from the University of Oslo, and a B.Ed. from the University of Ottawa.

Having taught science and mathematics in three different countries (Canada, Norway and Nigeria) and in four different educational systems, I am very aware that the learning and teaching of science has its own unique way of transcending international and cultural boundaries. Given that CERN is THE model for experimental science as a truly international endeavour, it has always been a dream of mine to be here.

In addition, participation in the HST will enable me to learn and understand more about Particle Physics, to open myself up to a broader network of educators, and allow me to continue to challenge and motivate myself so that I can in turn continue to challenge and motivate my students.
