I am Ingrid
Loncq de Jong and I graduated in 1981 from University of Leiden in the
Netherlands. I am a teacher since 1981 and now I teach physics at ‘het
Vlietland College’ in Leiden. My pupils are between 14 and 18 years old.
I also work at
the University of Leiden at the Junior Science Lab. We develop
experiments in order to bridge the gap between secondary school and
university.
It is for me a great opportunity to come to CERN and learn more about
particle physics. I hope I will get a lot of new ideas in how to explain
such a difficult subject to my pupils or even to my
non-scientific colleagues. I
am
looking forward to get to know my colleages from other countries and hearing
how the teaching system is organised in their country.
