My name is Penny Mullan.  I teach Physics and Chemistry at St Mary's School, Waverley.  St Mary's is an Anglican private school for girls and is the oldest school in Johannesburg.  Along with my teaching commitments, I coordinate the academic programme at the school and I am in charge of the boarding facilities for our girls.

     I have a degree in Physics and Applied Mathematics and am currently the Physics examiner for the Independent Examinations Board in South Africa.  I am looking forward to the prospect of networking with like-minded teachers from around the world and hopefully gaining insight into principles of ‘best practice’ from their schools.
