My name is Tony Thyer and I teach physics.  I have worked at a Further Education College in South-East London since 1985, teaching Computing until 2005. and Physics since then. Our students are 16+ years. Many have English as a second language, some are attempting to improve their qualifications, others are taking the final step before University. They are all a delight to teach, I get asked questions about why particles decay in a particular way, and what drives the Wind Turbines - Oil or Coal. The last question was easy.

I like developing educational materials.- for example see http://homepage.ntlworld.com/e.thyer/quark/HadronBuilder.html I have a desire to get a deeper understanding of Particle Physics, ready for when the LHC finds something new. I am also keen to find an excuse to use the Grid.

In my spare time I attempt Yoga, and visit my Grandchildren in Zurich at every opportunity.
