Tracks and Relativity
Teachers' Results You can use rulers and compasses to draw and
measure a circle that fits the first part of the track, but we have drawn
and fitted the circles with a computer drawing programme (see the picture, not
to scale!)
These are our results for the blue circle: measured
radius = 5.3 cm with a magnification factor
of g = 0.67, this gives real radius = 5.3 cm /
0.67 = 7.9 cm. You can also try another geometrical procedure to calculate the radius if you click-me (PowerPoint).
