I teach A-level physics, and physics related subjects, to keen and
enthusiastic students at a large Further Education college in the north of England. I run
a number of extra-curricular activities that are either electronics or computer
interfacing based. The main activity involves building cosmic ray detectors and making
measurements of the cosmic radiation that reaches ground level. Our current project
involves working with two local schools to develop a detector array that is capable of
detecting the highest enrgy particles in the universe. I have a tolerant wife and two
school aged children - each of whom are braver, wiser and more intelligent than I am, but
they can't mend the car. |
